We hope everyone is having a great ski season! We’re more than halfway through the season and spring skiing is just around the corner. Despite the slow start to the season, the snow conditions are great on the resort and 100 percent of the mountain terrain is open.
Last weekend proved itself to be an epic one with 9 inches of fresh pow. For this upcoming weekend single day tickets are sold out, so we are hoping to see less people on the mountain.
Steamboat resort is currently at 86 percent of average snowpack for the season. Today we woke up to three inches of fresh snow and the resort could be getting up to six inches over the next five days with the most accumulation forecasted on Saturday, February 27.
If you’re looking to go into the backcountry, authorities are stressing safety and preparedness. This is so important because it's been a very deadly season for the backcountry community. Colorado leads all states in avalanche deaths and accounts for 11 fatalities so far during the 2020-2021 season.
