Snow Report for 2.11.22

After a few heavy snow storms through the holidays and January, February has been a dry with decreased snow patterns and a grim forecast over the next few days. All we can do is continue doing our snow dance and hoping for a massive storm to hit us.

Today Steamboat Resort is reporting 23°F with 8 mph wind speeds. 99% of the area is open with 168/169 lifts and 15/17 lifts open. There’s a chance for light snow today. Next week OpenSnow is forecasting up to 6” over a five day period. Steamboat Resort's snowpack has fallen to 94% below the average for the season with packed powder conditions.

Even with the lack of snowfall, the snow is still good and we’re having a great time being outside. Warmer temperatures today will hopefully soften the snow up a little bit and you’ll get that edge back. If you’re finding the snow conditions icy, it helps skiing the runs that get the most sun exposure throughout the day.

Tree skiing is fairly skied out and the moguls are absolute knee killers, so we’re sticking to the groomers to give our legs a rest. If you do go into the trees and bump runs, watch out for random rocks and fallen trees! Our skis have taken a beating.

Here are some groomer runs we’re loving right now:

  • Lower Concentration
  • Valley View and Lower Valley View
  • Sunshine Lift Line
  • Buddy’s Run
  • Rainbow

Have a great weekend and don't forget to do your snow dance!
