Temps and visibility were low this morning with a light snow shower lingering. Most open trails are skiing fairly well with decent coverage, especially towards upper mountain.
Storm Peak Express is now open with access to High Noon, One O’Clock and Two O’Clock. Be aware that if you head that way you will need to traverse out via cat track since Sundown and Sunshine lifts are still closed.
Our guess is that Buddy’s Run will open up this week which will be the go-to run from Storm Peak.
Trees are even soft in some places around the mountain, they are still very boney though, so be careful!
Lower runs including Heavenly Daze and Vogue are becoming a little icy so be careful on these runs, especially early in the morning.
The gondola is still currently closed, although according to Steamboat Resort’s website, they are hoping to have it up and running for testing this afternoon. Currently, the only way to get to the top of the mountain is to take Christie to Thunderhead.
It looks like we should be getting another storm Wednesday night into Thursday. This storm is estimated to bring about 3 inches. Further out, it looks like we should see another storm on Saturday night through Monday or even Tuesday bringing 5-10 inches.
