March 25th Snow Report

Last week started off grey and dry, however the sun came out mid-week for some warm and beautiful days in Steamboat. The weekend brought a few inches of snow on Saturday and Sunday and we woke up this morning to about 4” of fresh snow on the mountain. Today is turning into a beautiful blue-bird day with temps in the mid 40’s. It looks like we should have similar weather all week, although the forecast is calling for more snow this weekend.

Everything is so well covered right now you can’t go wrong wherever you are on the mountain. In the mornings, when temps are still cold and the snow is still a little icy, we are sticking to groomers. Some of our favorite groomers include: Quickdraw (Blue. Accessible by Sunshine or Sundown lifts), Buddy’s Run (Blue. Accessible by Storm Peak lift), West Side and Rolex (Black Diamond. Accessible by South Peak lift.) and Vagabond (Blue. Accessible by Gondola or Thunderhead lift.)

Later in the day, when temperatures rise and the snow becomes a bit softer and slushier, we are riding on the bumpier and steeper trails. Some of our favorite spring day trails include: Flying Z (Black. Accessible by Storm Peak lift.), One O’ Clock and Two O’ Clock (Blues. Accessible by Sunshine or Sundown lifts.) and Valley View (Black. Accessible by the Gondola or Thunderhead lift.)

The park is fun on warm spring days as well, try Little Rodeo park if you are a beginner or head on up to Rabbit Ears park for more challenging features. Don’t go too late in the day however, as the snow in the park becomes too slushy and slow.

Happy Trails and Safe Spring Skiing Everyone!
